Configure one App
After selecting an app from the list, you will be taken to the "Configure App" page for that application.
Overview
"Application Properties" section
"Application Name" field - Displays the current name of the application.
"App is enabled" checkbox - When the value is 'checked', the application is visible to all visitors on the DataSpeeder home page. When the value is 'unchecked', the application is only visible to administrator users on the DataSpeeder home page. NOTE: It is good practice to make the application invisible to application users until the application is fully configured and ready for use.
"Users must be signed in to view app" checkbox - When the value is 'checked', the application is not visible on the DataSpeeder home page unless the user is signed in.
"Database Connection" field - Displays the name of the database connection being used by this app.
"Edit App ..." button - Click to access dialog box for changing the values shown in the 'Application Properites' section.
"Resync App with Database" button - Clicking this button will refresh DataSpeeder's knowledge of the database schema, and DataSpeeder will rework the Entity Types and Fields accordingly and relay information messages about any changes detected. This action would be necessary if the database design got updated with new tables or table columns after the DataSpeeder app was initially created.
"Entity Types" section
"Show/Hide Entity Types..." button - When clicked, you will be prompted with the list of Entity Types discovered in the database which is basically a list of all the tables found. Choose the Entity Types that you want to be visible on the main page of your app, and click the Save Changes button.
"Shown on App Main Page" table - Displays a list of the Entity Types that have been selected to be shown on the main page of the app.
"Not Shown on App Main Page" table - Displays a list of the Entity Types that have been selected to NOT be shown on the main page of the app.
Entity Type links - Click on the name of an Entity Type to go to the Configure Entity Type page for that entity type.
"Delete Application ..." button
DANGER
"DELETE APPLICATION" IS A PERMANENT ACTIVITY AND CANNOT BE UNDONE.
"Delete Application" button - Click the button to delete the current application from DataSpeeder. You will be prompted for confirmation before the delete occurs. Once deletion is confirmed, the application (example "Demo Movie Application") and all associated configuration (Data Types, Data Relationships) will be deleted.
TIP
Deleting an application will not delete the database data that the application points to, it will only delete the configured DataSpeeder application itself.
