Manage User Accounts

Managing user accounts including changing the admin password.

Overview

"Create New User Account ..." button - Click to open a Create User Account page for creating a new User Account.

Username link in Name column - Click to open the View page for the selected User Account.

Edit link - Click to open the Edit page for the selected User Account.

Delete link - Click to delete the User Account. You will be prompted for confirmation before the delete will occur.

Create User Account

Click the "Create New User Account ..." button to access the "Create New User Account" page.

"Username" field - Used to specify the username that the user will use to log in.

"Password" field - Used to specify the password that the user will use to log in.

"Confirm password" field - Re-enter the password for confirmation, the values must match.

User Permissions

"Is Admin" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has "Admin" permissions which gives the user the ability to acess the "Admin Page" and configure the system and applications.

"Can View Entities" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has permissions to view entities as readonly data.

"Can Create Entities" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has permissions to create new entities.

"Can Edit Entities" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has permissions to edit existing entities.

"Can Delete Entities" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has permissions to delete existing entities.

"Can Link Entities" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has permissions link entities there using the "Add" functionality for Linked Data Fields.

"Can Unlink Entities" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account has permissions unlink entities there using the "Remove" functionality for Linked Data Fields.

**"Enabled" checkbox - Used to specify whether or not this User Account can be used to log in.

Changing Passwords & Password Encryption

User passwords are stored in the DataSpeeder database in an encrypted format using a one-way hash encryption method for security reasons. That means if a user forgets his password, there is no way to recover it.

To change a user's password, a user with admin permission must edit the User Account and specify a new password.
